HASE CNC
CNC machining for automotive parts
Plan the turning, milling and drilling steps for each automotive part family before comparing individual machines or a combined production route.
Group parts by the operations they need
- Discs, drums, hubs, flanges, shafts and pulley blanks may require facing, boring, outside or inside turning, and threading. List the actual operations and datum requirements for each part.
- Housings, brackets, bolt-hole patterns and keyways can require milling, drilling or tapping. Separate these operations from the turning work when preparing the process plan.
Review the complete machining route
- Compare a lathe for the rotational features with a machining center for subsequent milling and drilling. Where combined turning and milling is required, ask the technical team to review tooling and the proposed setup.
- Provide batch size and recurring production volume, plus the loading, fixturing, inspection and changeover requirements. A general application guide cannot confirm cycle time or achievable accuracy.
Prepare a part-family quotation
- Send a part list with drawings, material, blank condition, size range, tolerances, surface requirements and expected quantities.
- Use the linked original parameter tables to discuss candidate models. Final process suitability, configuration, quotation and order require human review.
